Being a Teacher.

I picked so many different career paths for myself since I was little and the last thing I EVER wanted to be was a teacher because I honestly feel that they have one of the HARDEST jobs in the world and I just didn’t think I could handle it. Some people don’t consider what I do as a teaching job but, it really is. I love it more than I ever imagined but Now when I look at the supplies I have in my class and all the things I NEED in my class, I feel horrible for the lack of funding that is given to teachers. I sat and made a list of things I need in my classroom. I’m going to pick up a bunch of them tonight after work but STILL that’s so much stuff. I don’t have all this money to throw into this on a regular basis either.

  • crayons
  • pipe cleaners
  • cotton swabs
  • markers
  • books
  • a better working cd player for daily music
  • tissue
  • Elmer’s glue
  • more table top space for the kids to eat at
  • fishing line
  • paper clips
  • colored paper (construction hopefully)

I want to cry. My kids deserve all this but I don’t think I can afford it all for them. Good thing I kept that job at Starbucks. I don’t think leaving there any time soon is an option. I better start to LOVE these 7 day weeks!
